Twilight Princess annoyances
by Marcus on January 4, 2007
I completed Twilight Princess today, very nice game, took me about 35 hours, with some sub-storylines completed, which was a bit surprising because I've read that the main storyline itself would contain atleast 50 hours of gameplay. Anyway, the more perfect a game is the easier it is to point out the few annoying things in it, and that's what I'm gonna do now.
"EYE GOTZ 5 RUPIZ!" I don't need a message almost every time I pick up rupee that isn't green. Also you can't even skip the text, which means there's a small waiting time before you can close it. Imagine picking up more than five different rupees in a row and you'll get the idea. Luckily these messages only appear when it's the first time you collect these rupees a new place.
You're too rich! If you open a chest with a rupee inside, and the value of that rupee exceeds the amount you have left in your wallet, the rupee (and the chest) will remain untouched. "Why is this annoying?" you may think, well I'll tell you why, when you run around some gigantic dungeon looking for important chests it is pretty damn irritating that you have to remember which chests that contain huge rupees and which ones you haven't opened.
That's it? The bosses are ridiculously easy, I don't think I've died at any of the bosses, didn't die at the final one anyway, and that's supposed to be the hardest one. Therefore the rush you normally get when you finally kill a boss after a lot of tries is non-existing.
It's over when it's over. In a game where you have as much freedom as Twilight Princess it would be nice to be able to save the game when you have completed the main storyline and then continue playing the sub-missions, unfortunately you can't.
All I remember at the moment, if you remember more of them write a comment. ;)

Took me 35 hours too.
Yes it’s really damn annoying to hear “OMG RUPEZZ! YES!” And I don’t know why we need to know it everytime.
And yeah it can be annoying if he leaves the rupee inside the chest, not only will you still have the chest on your map. You won’t really come back and get it…
That’s it? Yeah it freaking is!
I didn’t die to ANY of the bosses niether! IT was too easy.. I died more in the start just when you get outside the village?! I died like 5 times, but the bosses were no problemo!.
And sadly it’s over when it’s over..
Seriously I got a little pissed when I saw that you couldn’t get the “hard gameplay save” like you could in Wind Waker, but even more that I forgot to save right before I entered the castle..
I remember playing Ocarina of times a LOT when I was done with it. And I don’t really remember what I did in it, cause you couldn’t beat any of the bosses anymore.
Majora’s mask did have that, so you could kill the bosses just by going back in time. See that was funny.
Anyway, when you beat the game, there’s nothing else to do than collect all items… This is like those games where it tells you how far you are into the game when you save “40% completed” and then you actually finish it at 60% and the rest is just health containers and items..
It’s really sad, I REALLY (and I mean REALLY!) enjoyed playing this game while it lasted. It felt like Ocarina of time, cause there was so much to do!
I know that the only thing that I would be interested in after defeating the game, is getting “The hyrule story” or what it’s called. Shad (The wise guy from your “team”) is supposenly trying to collect pieces about the “ancient hero”. I read somewhere that it contains rather exciting information like how the hero can transfer his powers to the next one (The hidden skills guy :O:O). I think you also get some information in which timeline Twilight princess is taking place, and I think it should be after OOT.
I just remembered one thing that annoys me… That is when you go fishing!
Why can’t you keep the fish for doing something? And why is it that the only thing I have to do is lifting my wiimote and then I’ll catch it?.. That’s not great..

There’s something about the dungeons..
The first 3 is the typical three dungeons we see in almost every game. After that “something” happend and you have to find a new power in a few other dungeons.. How many was it? The geodude castle thingie, The mansion, The temple of time and the city in the sky, – then at last it’s some kind of “mini”dungeon in the twilight zone and then the very easy Hyrule Castle. Four of those dungeons were made like the “original” dungeons, they took at long time. The other ones gave me another feel, like it was a lot easier and faster than a normal one. I liked it, cause I wouldn’t have to use hours in there on puzzle and it was pretty much fast forward, but there wasn’t enough of those levels :(
Still Twilight Princess is an awesome game and would get 13/5 stars from me :d. It’s lacking the act of replaying, but GAWD it’s AWESOME!

Oh right I forgot, it’s not annoying but I just thought I would see it…
In every game of the 3d Zelda’s you had an instrument. I miss it :(

By the way, my Wii doesn’t read you Mr. Fookhar -_^

Go fish at the fishing lake and you’ll be able to do the reeling with the nunchuk and so on, don’t know if it’s possible to win or buy a new fishing stick at some point.

yes I know you can do it at the fishing hole. But why would you do so? I don’t think there’s any reward that’s really worth it :)

Because it’s more fun to fish with the advanced fishing pole…
