Internet phenomenon ‘Lonelygirl15′
Mar 29th
June 16, 2006, the first entry in the video diary of Bree aka. Lonelygirl15 aired on YouTube. It seemed like an ordinary vlog, Bree talked about miscellanous stuff in her life, goofed around, created satiric skits etc., but the content of the videos slowly became more private. She started talking about her mysterious religion (called The Order), her strict parents and a ceremony she was about to participate in. Her friend Daniel (aka. DanielBeast on YouTube) tried talking her out of doing the ceremony, this lead to arguments between Daniel and Bree's dad. At this point the videos still seemed some what believable as actual events, but fans were getting suspicious of whether or not this was all set up, and in the end it was discovered that Bree is a 19-year old actress from New Zealand, named Jessica Rose, so Lonelygirl15 turned out to be a well coordinated show, created by a small group of amateur filmmakers. Even though it was discovered that the show wasn't real it still continued (and is still running today).
I find the entire idea of this very fascinating, airing a show that cleverly via YouTube is genious, many viewers were shocked to find out it wasn't real, and this is more or less a completely new form of entertainment. Daniel and other characters from the show aired YouTube videos on their own profiles as well, for example as answers to Bree's videos. In the latest episode, which aired March 26, 2007, we see Bree and Daniel being taken hostage by The Order, the video itself is seen as a kind of surveillance video from The Order's perspective, and many believe this is the end of the show, or maybe some sort of season finale.
Another interesting fact about Lonelygirl15 is the amount of media coverage it received from magazines and news stations all over North-America, especially when everyone tried to discover her real identity, since the discovery Jessica Rose has been in numerous tv-interviews, one as a guest on Jay Leno's talkshow.

I've added a new plugin to the site, which lets users subscribe to an e-mail-notification service for comments. Subscribing to the service is very easy, you find an entry, and then either check the point under the comments form and submit a comment, or subscribe without commenting with the 'Subscribe without commenting' form. Then you'll receive an e-mail when someone comments to that entry.
300

Holy crap! This movie is as cool as expected; the action scenes are incredible; the mix of CGI, the visual style of the movie and the choreography lift the battle sequences to a higher level, which you won't see in any other movie. 300 could be watched entirely because of these scenes, but the part of the plot taking place back at Sparta is interesting as well. I think I'm gonna go watch it again now.
9/10
I know a movie like this deserves to be watched in a cinema, and I'm going to, so no worries. After watching 300 I've been reading a bit about the historical event from the movie, The Battle of Thermopylae, and 300 depicts the events more accurately than I though. You can read more on Wikipedia, just take a look at the casualties part, insane!

My first PS3 experience
Mar 20th

The local games shop in town had put up a PlayStation 3, so I got to play a little MotorStorm and some Formula 1 game. The console was running on a Sony Bravia LCD-TV with 720p. The employee immediately started bullshitting me about the incredible 1080p resolution he had seen at some Sony conference a few days earlier, too bad no games are able to use it yet numbnuts. Anyway…
Hardware
I actually don’t like the controller that much, the trigger buttons seemed a bit slippery, seeing as the buttons themselves are turning outwards and not in, which is the case with the Xbox 360 controller, which I like better overall, mostly because it has a better grip. I still prefer the design and D-pad of the DualShock 2 though. The design of the console itself is pretty neat too, pretty big, but doesn’t seem that much bigger (or smaller) than the 360.
Interface
The interface seems good enough, I’m used to it on the PSP, and didn’t get enough chance to browse around with it to be sure of what I think about it.
Games
As I mentioned I tried MotorStorm, and what a disappointment, the graphics don’t really look next-gen, and even though it was running in 720p I wasn’t impressed with the details. Same goes for the Formula 1 game, God I hate that genre.
