WoW and me #2
Feb 1st
Terrokar Forest.
Yay, an update to the already infamous WoW-diary! I'm running around in a new zone now, Terrokar Forest, a beautiful area in which the city of Shattrath is located. A lot of fun quests here.

Main building of Shattrath City.
The city is ruled by the Naaru, a dimension-travelling race of sentient energy, and the city's lower district is swarming with refugees from various conflicts in Outland. The city has two dominant, rivalling races, Aldor, an ancient Draenei priesthood, and the Scryers, a group of Blood Elves that broke away from Prince Kael'thas and offered to help the Naaru in Shattrath.
As mentioned the lower district is swarming with scum, just look at this lowlife I found hanging around in a shabby inn:

Fookhar at The Dark Portal.
Wauw look, a diary about my World of Warcraft experiences, how utterly uninteresting. So far The Burning Crusade is pretty entertaining, Hellfire Peninsula, the first zone, wasn't very pretty, a desolate wasteland like Blasted Lands. It has some nice landmarks though, like the Blood Elf tower Falcon Watch and the Hellfire Citadel with its destroyed walls. Zangarmarsh, the zone I'm in now, is a lot cooler. A blueish swamp with hydras, flying stingray-like creatures and big wasps. I visited the big city in Outlands aswell, Shattrath, and it's probably the best looking capital in the game.

Zangarmarsh.
I also had my first instance-run in Outlands yesterday and this hilarious thing dropped:

Night elfs and paladins beware, I’m back!
Jan 22nd
My break from World of Warcraft lasted 108 days. Back in october I was raiding Ahn'Qiraj 40 with my guild, wiping on Princess Huhuran for the third or fourth time because of some idiot not doing what he's supposed to, and I started thinking what the hell I was doing. I was annoyed, it was late and I wasn't having any fun at all. That night I stopped raiding, and when my subscription ran out I stopped playing all together. In my opinion leveling characters is the funniest part of the game, exploring new places, getting new items, new skills, etc. Therefore I knew I would buy The Burning Crusade at some point, but I didn't realize how much I had missed the game until everyone started talking about how great the new expansion is. Luckily Blockbuster had one copy left (I almost bought the collector's edition in another store because I thought the game was sold out everywhere), and it's currently installing. I'll get my hunter to level 70, probably also my level 50 mage, and then maybe start a blood elf or draenei, but I won't be going to back to raiding… Hopefully.

Behind ‘Make Love not Warcraft’ South Park episode
Nov 18th

Recently a South Park episode featured a lot of ingame scenes from World of Warcraft, the four kids battle against a 1337 gamer who has reached a level so high no one knew it existed, yes it's not really authentic, but a lot of fun never the less. I was wondering how they created the game scenes, and stumbled upon this interview at Machinima.com, with members from the South Park animation staff. Very interesting, apparently Blizzard gave them a spot on a Burning Crusade alpha server to do the shots.
"The Blizzard team gave us a special "friends and family" server to play on. Every once an a while a strange player would walk by and check out group the filming. The programmers could instantly kill a player that got in the way of filming. There's a player out there wondering what they had stumbled upon just before they were wiped from the location."
